How Did I End Up In Japan?
After I graduated from the University of York, with a degree in Politics and English Literature in 1985 and with no intention of getting a “career”, I spent several years teaching English in England, Italy, Germany and Japan.
I would have been happy to settle in Italy, but I had always been interested in Japan- also, I had heard that Japanese language schools paid well – so I got a job in Hiroshima as an English teacher and had a great time. After spending a couple of years back in England, I returned to Japan in 1999 and have been here ever since!
How I Got Started On The Internet…
It all started back in 2001 or so when I set up a basic HTML website and began writing about how to play Japanese mahjong.
Next, I added some Japanese mahjong sets, comics and other Japan-related goods and things took off from there.
